Renewed by the Word
Scripture: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”— Romans 12:2
Salvation gives you a new heart, but your mind must continually be renewed. Old patterns of thinking do not disappear automatically. Thoughts shaped by rejection, failure, fear, or painful experiences may try to return. That is why transformation requires the daily work of allowing God’s Word to wash and renew your mind.
Your mind receives thoughts, your will chooses what to accept, and your emotions often respond to what you have believed. When your thoughts are filled with defeat, your emotions may become overwhelmed. But when your thoughts are anchored in Scripture, faith, peace, and godly confidence begin to rise within you.
God does not merely want to temporarily numb your pain. He desires to heal you completely and remove the enemy’s foothold from your life. His Word goes beneath the surface, revealing the thoughts and intentions of the heart. It exposes every lie and replaces it with truth.
When the enemy says, “You are alone,” the Word declares that God will never leave you nor forsake you. When the enemy says, “You will never make it,” the Word says that you can do all things through Christ. When fear says there is no provision, the Word declares that God will supply all your needs.
A renewed mind is not produced by occasionally hearing a sermon. It comes from continually reading, hearing, studying, and believing the Word. The more Scripture you store within your heart, the more prepared you will be when the enemy attacks. If you keep the Word in your heart, the Word will keep you.
Prayer: Father, renew my mind through Your Word. Expose every lie I have believed and replace it with Your truth. Give me a hunger to read, study, and meditate on Scripture. Let Your Word become the foundation upon which I think, choose, and live. In Jesus’ name, amen.
