Keep Your Heart Free

Scripture: “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”-Ephesians 4:32

Serving the Lord does not mean we will never experience disappointment. People may misunderstand our intentions, overlook our efforts, or speak words that hurt. In those moments, we face a decision about what we will carry in our hearts.

Pastor Kevin encouraged us to walk in love and forgive quickly. Holding on to offense can affect how we see people and how willingly we serve them. A painful experience can make us hesitant to love again.

God understands that pain. We can bring Him our wounds honestly and ask Him to help us release resentment. Forgiveness may require repeated surrender, especially when the hurt runs deep. Through His grace, we can keep choosing mercy.

Forgiving someone does not require pretending the harm never happened. We can seek wisdom, address concerns truthfully, and maintain appropriate boundaries while refusing to nurture bitterness. A tender heart can still exercise discernment.

Remember how generously Christ has forgiven you. His mercy becomes the foundation for extending forgiveness to others. We depend on His strength to do what our emotions may resist.

Your love for Jesus can continue growing even after a difficult experience. Ask Him to heal what has been wounded and renew your willingness to care for people. There is still purpose ahead of you, and there are still people who need the love of God.

Let the Lord guard your heart as you keep walking with Him.

Prayer: Father, You know where I have been hurt. Help me release resentment and forgive as You have forgiven me. Give me wisdom, heal my heart, and keep me tender toward others as I serve You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
