Faith Gives Substance to Hope
Scripture: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1
Faith is more than believing that God exists. It is more than attending church, praying occasionally, or identifying as a Christian. Faith is active. It gives substance to what we are hoping for and provides evidence of what our natural eyes cannot yet see.
When God gives you a promise, it may not immediately appear in the natural. Yet faith reaches into the unseen and takes hold of what God has already made available through His Word. Faith says, “I cannot see it yet, but because God said it, I believe it is mine.”
Hebrews tells us that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. Everything visible came from something that could not be seen. God spoke, and creation responded. That same powerful Word is still creating, restoring, healing, directing, and producing life within those who believe.
Jesus is the living Word. When we trust the Word of God, we are placing our confidence in the power and faithfulness of Jesus Christ. His Word has opened doors, restored marriages, provided direction, answered prayers, and brought people out of impossible situations.
Do not allow what you currently see to become greater than what God has spoken. Circumstances are temporary, but His Word is eternal. Continue believing. Faith is building something that your eyes may not see yet, but in God’s perfect timing, what has been promised will become visible.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the power of Your Word. Help me trust what You have spoken even when I cannot yet see the answer. Strengthen my faith and teach me to build my life upon Your promises. I believe that Your Word is working and creating the life You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
