“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” … “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”- Mark 9:23–24

Devotional: The father in Mark 9 brought his tormented son to Jesus. His faith was not polished or impressive; it was honest. He believed, yet he recognized the struggle within him and cried, “Help my unbelief!” Jesus did not reject that sincere cry. He delivered the boy and restored him to his father.

Faith is not confidence in a preacher, a church, or our own strength. Faith is confidence in God and His Word. Like a muscle, our believing must be developed. We strengthen it by hearing the Word, speaking the Word, remembering God’s faithfulness, and refusing to make temporary circumstances our final authority. We may not see an immediate change, but faith can stand before sight agrees.

Pastor Kevin shared how he held to God’s Word when prayer seemed to produce no visible change. He settled it in his heart: “I am not the sick; I am the healed.” Later, healing manifested, and God used that testimony to launch him into praying for others. The waiting season was not wasted; God was developing his faith for future ministry.

Do not condemn yourself when your faith feels small. Bring it to Jesus. Ask Him to strengthen what is weak, then intentionally feed your spirit with truth. Believing grows when the Word of God becomes more real to you than the voice of doubt.

Prayer: Lord, I believe; help my unbelief. Root Your Word deeply in me and teach me to trust You beyond what I can see. Strengthen my faith until my thoughts, words, and actions agree with Your truth. Amen.

Practical Challenge: Choose one promise connected to your present need. Read it morning, midday, and evening, then thank God that His Word is working in you while your faith grows.
