Ask in the Name of Jesus
Scripture: “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you… Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” — John 16:23–24
Jesus has given us an extraordinary invitation to approach the Father in His name. He did not say, “Ask, and perhaps you will receive.” He said, “Ask, and you will receive.” These words reveal the heart of a Father who desires His children to come to Him with confidence.
Asking in Jesus’ name is not merely adding a phrase to the end of a prayer. It means approaching God through our relationship with Christ and praying in agreement with His character, authority, and will. We are not relying upon our goodness or ability to earn an answer. We come because Jesus has given us access to the Father.
Hebrews 11:6 teaches us that those who come to God must believe two things: that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Believe that God is real, present, and actively involved in your life. Then believe that seeking Him is never wasted. When you need healing, seek the Healer. When you need direction, seek the Shepherd. When you need provision, seek the Provider.
Do not limit your prayers to what you can accomplish by yourself. Bring God the impossible places—the situations where only His intervention can make the difference. He is not intimidated by the size of your need. He loves to reveal His goodness and receive glory through answered prayer.
The doors are open. The Father is listening. Jesus has invited you to ask. Come boldly, seek diligently, and believe wholeheartedly.
Prayer: Father, I come before You in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank You for giving me access to Your presence and inviting me to ask. I believe that You are real, that You are with me, and that You reward those who diligently seek You. Help me pray with confidence, humility, and faith. I place every impossible need before You and trust You to answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
