When Nothing Has Changed
Scripture: “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today… The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”- Exodus 14:13–14
The Israelites stood between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army. From their perspective, they were trapped. Fear convinced them that God had brought them into the wilderness to die, but what they saw did not cancel what God had spoken.
Nothing had changed.
God had already declared that He would deliver His people and receive glory through their victory. The approaching army was not proof that God had abandoned them; it was the setting in which His power would be revealed.
You may be facing trouble in your marriage, finances, health, family, or mind. The pressure may cause you to wonder whether you misunderstood God. But difficulty does not mean His promise has changed. The enemy wants you to interpret the battle as abandonment, while God wants you to recognize it as an opportunity to trust Him more deeply.
Faith does not deny the reality of the battle. Faith declares that the battle does not have the final word. God does.
You do not need to understand every detail of His plan. You simply need to remain where He has called you, quiet your fearful thoughts, and remember His faithfulness. The same God who led you to this place is already present in it. He will accomplish what only He can do.
Do not allow fear to send you back into something from which God has already delivered you. Stand in faith. Hold your peace. The Lord is fighting for you, and victory belongs to Him.
Prayer: Father, when fear tells me that I am trapped or forgotten, remind me of Your unchanging Word. Help me stand firm and trust that You are fighting for me. Quiet every anxious thought and fill me with supernatural peace. I believe that nothing has changed—You are still faithful, Your promise still stands, and victory belongs to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
