I Believe God
Scripture: “Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.” — Acts 27:25
Paul was aboard a ship trapped in a violent storm. The passengers and crew had lost hope, stopped eating, and expected to die. Yet in the middle of that darkness, an angel of God stood beside Paul and delivered a promise: Paul would reach Caesar, and everyone sailing with him would survive.
The storm did not immediately disappear. The ship would still be lost, and those aboard would have to follow instructions, run the vessel aground, and swim to safety. Nevertheless, Paul stood before them and boldly declared, “I believe God.” He received God’s Word, and the gift of faith enabled him to trust that everything would happen exactly as the Lord had said.
Paul’s faith did more than strengthen him—it encouraged everyone around him. Two hundred seventy-six lives were affected because one man heard from God and stood confidently upon His Word. The gift was personal, but its impact was collective.
Faith does not always mean that the storm instantly stops. Sometimes it means God gives you supernatural confidence while the wind is still blowing. His promise becomes more real to you than the danger surrounding you.
When God speaks, you can take courage. The circumstances may change, the ship may look different when you reach the shore, and obedience may still be required—but God’s Word will stand. Your confidence in Him can become the encouragement someone else needs to keep going.
Prayer: Father, help me believe You in every storm. When fear and discouragement surround me, anchor my heart in what You have spoken. Give me courage to strengthen others with the confidence You place within me. I believe that it will be just as You have said. In Jesus’ name, amen.
