Faith Given for the Moment
Scripture: “To another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit.” — 1 Corinthians 12:9
The gift of faith is different from the faith we exercise in our daily Christian walk. It is a supernatural impartation of the Holy Spirit—a God-given confidence released for a particular moment, purpose, or need. It is part of the power gifts of the Spirit, alongside gifts of healings and the working of miracles.
We cannot manufacture or control the gift of faith. The Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts according to His will. However, when the gift of faith comes, an extraordinary certainty rises within you. You do not merely hope that God will act; you know that He will do exactly what He has spoken.
This gift is often released in desperate situations where natural solutions are exhausted. It enables a believer to stand confidently upon God’s Word while everyone else sees only impossibility. Yet the gift is never given so someone can appear more spiritual. Every spiritual gift is given to help, strengthen, and minister to others.
The Holy Spirit desires to bring healing to the sick, miracles to those in need, wisdom to the confused, and courage to the discouraged. He accomplishes this work through people who yield themselves to His influence.
You may not decide when the gift of faith will come, but you can make yourself available to God. Desire to be used by Him. Remain sensitive to His presence and willing to obey. When a need arises, the Holy Spirit can place His own faith upon you and work through your life for the blessing of many.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, I surrender myself to You. Make me sensitive to Your voice and available for Your purposes. Remove every desire for recognition and give me a heart that longs to help others. Work through me however You choose, and let Jesus receive all the glory. Amen.
