Believe What Jesus Says About You
Scripture: “Then He said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’” — Luke 7:48
The woman at Jesus’ feet was surrounded by people who knew her reputation. Simon saw her past and questioned why Jesus would allow her near Him. While Simon silently judged her, Jesus spoke forgiveness over her life.
People may remember what you did. You may remember it even more clearly. Regret can replay old failures until they begin to sound like your permanent identity. But when you come to Christ in repentance and faith, His forgiveness is real.
The blood of Jesus is sufficient for the sin you have confessed to Him.
Notice that Jesus did not ask the room for permission to forgive her. His authority was greater than their accusations. The same Savior has authority to cleanse your heart and make you new.
Receiving forgiveness also means learning to agree with His Word. When shame says you must keep paying for yesterday, remember that Jesus gave Himself for your redemption. When condemnation tells you to hide, bring your heart into His light.
The woman’s love did not purchase forgiveness. Her overflowing affection expressed a heart responding to mercy. That same mercy awakens worship in us.
Today, let gratitude rise where shame has been speaking. Thank Jesus for the cross. Confess whatever needs to be confessed, receive His cleansing, and allow the Holy Spirit to renew your thinking.
Your past is part of your story. In Christ, you have a new identity and a future shaped by His grace.
Prayer: Father, thank You for forgiving me through Jesus Christ. I confess my sin and receive Your mercy. Silence the accusations I have carried, and teach me to believe Your Word. Holy Spirit, fill my heart with gratitude and help me walk in the freedom of forgiveness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
