Cry Out in Faith
Scripture: “And they lifted up their voices and said, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’” — Luke 17:13
The ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, carrying a condition that separated them from everyday life. When they saw Jesus, they lifted their voices. Their prayer was simple: “Have mercy on us!”
They knew whom to call.
Sometimes we hesitate to pray because we do not know what to say. We imagine that faith must sound confident, polished, and full of answers. Yet these men approached Jesus with a cry for mercy. Their need became the very thing they brought before Him.
You can do the same today.
“Jesus, help me.” “Lord, give me wisdom.” “Father, I need Your strength.” These are meaningful prayers when they rise from a heart that trusts Him.
The sermon reminds us to reach toward Jesus in faith. That response may begin with opening your mouth in prayer, asking your church family to stand with you, or returning to worship when discouragement has made you withdraw.
Jesus told the ten men to show themselves to the priests, and they were cleansed as they went. Their story encourages us to trust His word and respond with obedience.
You do not need to manufacture an emotional moment. Turn your attention toward the Savior and place your confidence in His character. He hears you, loves you, and knows how to lead you.
Even while you wait for answers, keep bringing your heart before Him. His mercy gives you reason to pray again.
Prayer: Jesus, Master, have mercy on me. I bring You my needs, my questions, and the places where I feel powerless. Strengthen my faith as I wait upon You. Holy Spirit, help me pray boldly and respond faithfully to Your Word. In Jesus’ name, amen.
