Remember Who Is with You

Scripture Reading: Exodus 13:21–22; Numbers 13:30–33

The Israelites had seen God deliver them from Egypt. They had watched Him open the sea and lead them with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. His presence was continually before them.

Yet when they heard about the giants in the promised land, fear began to shape their expectations. The obstacles looked enormous, and they saw themselves as small.

We can recognize that struggle in our own lives. We remember what God has done, but a new problem makes yesterday’s testimony feel distant. A difficult report, an unexpected expense, or an uncertain future can capture our attention until we forget that the Lord is still with us.

Pastor Kevin reminded us that familiarity can cause us to overlook God’s faithfulness. We become accustomed to His goodness and stop remembering how much He has already carried us through.

Faith does not require us to pretend that the giants are small. It calls us to remember that God is greater. We can acknowledge a difficult situation without allowing it to become the final authority over our hope.

Bring your concern before the Lord today. Remember a prayer He answered, a season He sustained you through, or a truth from His Word that strengthened you. Let remembrance make room for gratitude.

The God who was faithful before has not become absent now. You can trust His character while you wait for His direction.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for allowing my problems to take all my attention. Remind me of Your faithfulness. Strengthen my heart through Your Word, and help me trust You with what I cannot yet see. In Jesus’ name, amen.
