Move Forward in Obedience
Scripture: “And the LORD said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it.’”-Exodus 14:15–16
There is a time to stand still and trust, but there is also a time to move forward in obedience. At the Red Sea, God had already given Israel His promise. Now He called them to take the next step.
They did not need another plan. They needed to obey the instruction they had already received.
Sometimes we continue asking God for direction because we do not want to act on what He has already said. We ask for another confirmation, another sign, or another word, hoping His instructions will become easier. But delayed obedience is still disobedience.
What has God told you to do?
Perhaps He has told you to forgive, establish a boundary, take care of your health, restore order to your finances, serve your family, or step into the calling you have avoided. You may not see how your obedience will change the situation, but obedience is not dependent upon immediate results. It is the declaration that you trust God enough to do what He says.
Moses lifted the rod, but God divided the sea. Moses did what he could do, and God accomplished what only He could do. This is how faith operates: we obediently take our step while trusting God for the miracle.
You do not have to carry the responsibility of producing the supernatural. You are only responsible for being faithful. When you move at God’s command, His power meets you on the path of obedience.
Stop negotiating with the instruction. Stop waiting until you feel completely ready. If God has spoken, move forward. Your obedience may become the doorway through which deliverance enters your family for generations.
Prayer: Father, forgive me for the times I have delayed or resisted Your instruction. Give me a willing heart and the courage to move forward. I surrender my excuses, fears, and need to understand everything. As I do what You have placed before me, accomplish what only You can do. Let my obedience open the way for freedom, blessing, and generational victory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
