Listen, Obey, and Walk in Peace
Scripture: “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” — James 1:22
When we do not know what to do, we often ask God to show us the entire road ahead. In His wisdom, He may direct our attention to a step already made clear in His Word.
Forgive. Tell the truth. Honor your commitments. Turn away from sin. Seek wise counsel. Love the person He has placed before you.
The sermon calls us to humble ourselves, seek the Lord, worship Him, and listen and obey. These responses grow from trusting His heart. We can surrender our way because we believe His wisdom is good.
Obedience becomes personal when the Holy Spirit brings Scripture to bear on our choices. We may recognize a habit that needs to change, a conversation we have avoided, or a responsibility we need to embrace. In those moments, ask Him for the strength to respond.
You do not have to accomplish transformation through determination alone. The Spirit of God works within you, enabling you to follow Jesus.
The woman in Luke 7 heard the Savior say, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.” She left with His word over her life. We, too, can move forward trusting what He has spoken.
Your circumstances may still require patience, prayer, and practical decisions. Take the next faithful step with Jesus. His presence goes with you, and His Word provides a sure foundation beneath your feet.
You can trust the One who leads you.
Prayer: Lord, give me a humble, teachable heart. Show me where I need to obey Your Word, and strengthen me to respond. Holy Spirit, guide my decisions and help me follow Jesus faithfully. I surrender my plans and trust You with the road ahead. In Jesus’ name, amen.
